Pastor’s Perspective: Fear Today, Deliverance Tomorrow
Dear Calvary Family,
I would describe this next section of scripture in Joshua, understanding deliverance. Joshua 10:28 - 11:23 describes an incredible journey of faith, against all odds, but God!
When we are born again, much new territory lies ahead of us to conquer. Our old life was filled with countless strongholds of godless ideology that must be destroyed, by faith. Fear often challenges faith, but faith is required for victory.
In preparing for Sunday, read this passage and take note of the many times you will read "left no survivor" and "they did just as the LORD commanded". Complete obedience to our Lord is still the most important anchor when overcoming the desires of the flesh and experiencing rest from this war.
This afternoon your leadership team will be going to a quiet place together to spend 2 days in prayer for one another and for each person in our church family. We will look to Jesus, the Shepherd of the flock, for healing, strength, wisdom and guidance as we prepare for another season of life together.
This spring offers some wonderful opportunities for all of us. May we all experience freedom in Christ as we gather as men next weekend, add the women's After-GLOW in April, and celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ with a Seder dinner on Good Friday and a wonderful service on resurrection Sunday!
See you on Sunday,
Pastor Marv
