Pastor's Perspective: Strength in Crisis
Dear Church Family,
How well are you enduring your crisis today? A crisis is a negative event or period that can lead to an unstable or dangerous situation. Painful or difficult circumstances are very much a part of the life of every believer in Jesus Christ. Being prepared is much better than being blindsided. As the Apostle Peter tells us, "Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you." 1 Peter 4:12
In our previous studies in Acts, the Apostle Paul was warned repeatedly that chains and bonds awaited him in Jerusalem, but to Jerusalem he went. Paul faced his fiery ordeals, and now in Acts 24 & 25, he is given some amazing opportunities to walk by faith in Caesarea, sustained by the presence of the Lord to stand strong.
Our CCF theme for 2024 has been, depending on the Holy Spirit. May the Holy Spirit minister peace to your heart today. May He give us peace as we navigate the various trials along this journey called life. May we continue in rich discipleship in the living Word of God, equipping us with faith that endures!
Thanksgiving is approaching. Praise God for all the testimonies of praise to God among us, what a blessing. So many of these stories involve deliverance from darkness, overcoming trials, and enjoying sweet fellowship with our church family. Taking steps of faith is a venture into amazing provisions from God. Face your giants, and your healing will come.
- Your Samaritan shoe box is due this Sunday! Your gift will be guided by God and delivered around the world by His servants.
- We will not be having our Wednesday evening gathering on Thanksgiving Eve. Enjoy time with family, invite someone to your home!
- Dec 6th "Overflowing Praise" - A night of singing and talent in the Overflowing Cup is just a few weeks away. Sign up online or in the foyer to sing or play some music. Bring a snack and enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend.
See you on Sunday!
