Pastor’s Perspective: Ready to Serve
Dear Church Family,
My heart has been full of joy this week as I see the 90+ children and 70+ VBS volunteers being knit together in the journey through the Bible. Let's join together in prayer for the final 2 gatherings, tonight and tomorrow night. On Sunday morning the children will join us for a few minutes to sing and share a bit about VBS , then after the service we will all gather to enjoy a picnic lunch on the front lawn.
Serving together takes grace, much grace. As we will see in our Acts 6 study this Sunday, the early church was growing rapidly, and with that growth came complaints from within and external opposition. The fullness of the Holy Spirit is essential for strength and faith to serve, and grace is needed to patiently endure one another.
I am thankful for a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit, and would ask each of you to seek the Lord for a fullness of His presence as well. A yielded life is a wonderful host of the power of God. A church that is led by the Spirit will make a significant impact for God, may we humbly embrace the work He has prepared for us.
Because of the time, effort and commitment of so many of you this week, we decided to cancel the "Overflowing Freedom" celebration on Fri, July 5th. However, at our July 3rd, Wed evening prayer night, we will spend significant time in intercession for our country. I believe the winds of revival are beginning the blow, let's trust God for this needed change to reach the top level of government!
