Pastor's Perspective: For I am With You
Dear Church Family,
This Sunday will be very special! It looks like the weather will be suitable for an outdoor service on the front lawn of the church. Bring your lawn chairs and maybe a jacket. We will have some parking spots available in front of the Overflowing Cup for those who need to sit in their cars to enjoy the service.
This week is also family day, and will involve a children's story time and a picnic lunch. Bring a side dish & dessert, our hospitality team will be making sandwiches. But most importantly, the thing we look forward to above all, is the ministry of the Holy Spirit, moving in our midst, revealing to us the boundless love of God, and stirring our hearts to surrender more fully to God's word!
This week we will wrap up the Apostle Paul's 2nd missionary journey in Acts 18. Paul will have traveled nearly 3,000 miles by land and sea over the course of 3 years. On Sunday, most of chapter 18 finds him in Corinth. The Lord speaks to Paul in a night vision, telling him not to be afraid...for I am with you!
The fact that God is with us gives us great courage in difficult days, and brings a measure of purity in our daily walk. I look forward to sharing this very special scripture with you.
Much love,
Pastor Marv
