Pastor’s Perspective: Rahab’s Hope

Rahab's home was embedded in the thick walls of Jericho. As a career prostitute, she knew the fears of the men of her city, as well of the reports of the tremendous blessings of God upon the warriors of Israel across the Jordan River.

When Joshua's 2 spies decided to lodge at her home, Rahab lied to protect them, and enabled them to escape the city by rappelling down the city wall on a rope tied from her house widow.

Rahab's great faith brought hope to the spies and opened the door of deliverance for her and her family. The story of the cord of scarlet thread hanging from her window is a tremendous thread of hope that weaves its way through the prophets and leads to the cross of Jesus Christ!

May God continue to deliver all who believe in Him. May the scarlet thread of redemption continue to surprise us as grace upon grace is poured out. And may the story of Rahab's faith inspire many to believe in the power of the gospel.

Robert Harper will be teaching on this wonderful story this Sunday. Prepare your heart for an expansion of faith.

Blessings to all

Pastor Marv
