Pastors Perspective: "Called, Chosen and Faithful"
Hello Calvary Family,
In our study this Sunday, Babylon the Great is represented as the spiritual city of immorality. Great, in this sense is exceedingly wicked. This city is a stark comparison to the city of God that has historically been ancient Jerusalem, and will become the center of operations and worship during the millennial reign of Jesus Christ.
The City of Babylon will also be a physical location during the 7-year tribulation, and will be the center of operations for the antichrist and the false prophet. The location will be on the seven mountains.(to be discussed on Sunday)
As the tribulation comes closer to an end, the world is spiraling into deeper darkness and immorality, with fewer souls seeking redemption. This prepares the world for chapter 19, the return of Christ, and the battle of Armageddon.
This battle is mentioned throughout scripture, and has been mentioned or alluded to several times in the previous chapters of Revelation. When Christ returns for this battle, we will be with Him. Of all the descriptions God could give concerning us, in Rev 17:14, He chose 3 words; the called, the chosen, the faithful.
This Sunday we will take a deeper dive into how this should inspire our lives today!
See you in a few days
