Pastor’s Perspective: The Great Sin
Dear Church Family,
What is the greatest sin of the church? You could make a list of numerous things people have done that you think would top that list, but perhaps the greatest sin of all is; judging God to be unworthy of our full confidence.
Hebrews 11:6 tells us, "Without faith it is impossible to please God...". Judging God to be unworthy or unable is a sin against God, against His deity.
A lack of faith in God stems from ignorance or rebellion. When you receive the Word of God into your mind and heart, your faith and confidence will grow. As His Word settles over your soul, contentment and peace will fill your heart. Joy springs from the awareness of His presence and the knowledge of His love and care. Lord, open the eyes of our heart to see things as you do.
This Sunday is Vision Sunday, our 2025 theme is "A Venture in Faith". Walking in faith involves the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is strengthened by the knowledge of God's Word. May we say as Peter in the storm tossed boat, "Lord, if it is you, bid me come unto Thee on the water". Jesus told Peter to come, will you take that step in 2025?
May God's face shine upon you!
