Pastor’s Perspective: Born for You
Dear Church Family,
The celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ has been etched into our culture in a powerful way. Yes, the world has desperately tried to sabotage Christmas for monetary gain, but yet it endures as a significant spiritual awakening. The humble way Jesus chose to enter our world reveals how accessible He is to all, including the weary, weak, poor or discouraged soul.
In Luke 2:11, the angel declared the good news to the startled Shepherds, "...for today in the city of David, there has been born for you a Savior...". May we treasure the "born for you" statement. The birth of Christ Jesus the Lord was a personal gift for me and for you, a gift of salvation.
On Sunday we will study this amazing gift of salvation more fully. The prophecy and blessing of Simeon concerning the Christ, in verses 25-35 help us understand some of what Mary treasured in her heart about this miraculous child.
The fact that Jesus Christ was born for us as a Savior, gives us a clear description of our need. The door of forgiveness and eternal life, leading to healing and restoration of soul, remains the greatest gift ever given to humanity. May it be celebrated appropriately this Christmas season!
Each of our church family Christmas gatherings up to this point have been so very encouraging! Reach out to a loved one and invite them to join us for our final 2 opportunities, this coming Sunday morning at 10:00 AM, and Christmas Eve at 5:00PM.
