Pastor's Perspective: Freed From All Things

Good morning Calvary Chapel,

Beginning this week in our Acts study, the missionary journeys of the Apostle Paul begin. In Acts 13:39, Paul tells the people of Antioch (In Asia Minor), that through Christ, everyone who believes is freed from all things. God says He will accomplish a work in our day that is hard to believe, true freedom is divine. The people in Paul’s day had one of 2 responses to the invitation to freedom; they mocked freedom, or they received freedom. Do you live in legalism or bondage? Have you overlooked the freedom that Christ has offered? Forgiveness of sins opens the door for healing, restoration, and freedom. Freedom from bondage is not striving after perfection, but rather a walk of faith, sustained by the power of God, for the glory of God. Be specific in your request, and let freedom in Christ reign in your lives today!

Family Day: September is here already, where has the Summer gone? This Sunday, September 1st is our monthly family day. We will have a special graduation for 5 students graduating from the children’s ministry, transferring to our youth ministry! We hope all our children can be in attendance for this special time.

September Men’s Breakfast: All men and boys are welcome to join us for our next breakfast on Sat morning, Sept 28th at 7:30! These are always special times together in the Word and provide a wonderful opportunity for fellowship. On this gathering we will begin a study in the Book of Colossians. Sign up on the church app to attend or stop by the welcome table for assistance.

Heart of VA Outreach on Sept 14th: Would you consider taking a step of faith in prayer and evangelism? Sign up on the app for a 2-hour slot, meeting people in our community, giving out lemonade, and offering to pray for people. Our goal is 30 volunteers!

See you on Sunday!
Pastor Marv
