Pastor’s Perspective: Wonders & Signs

Dear Calvary Family,

This Sunday morning, we plan to cross the Jordan River! This crossing is so significant to all of us, I hope we don't miss it. The tribes of Reuben, Gad and 1/2 of Manasseh were satisfied with the good land east of the Jordan, and a decent portion of the multitude still were holding onto Egypt as an identity. Holding on to the past can keep us from trusting God in this new venture in faith. As believers in Jesus Christ, we truly are a new creation, old things are passed away. Let the river of Gods deliverance separate you from a desert of wandering and enter the joy of victory.

You can read this story in advance in Joshua 3-4. How many times is the Ark of the Covenant mentioned? The presence of God is so essential in this faith journey. The Ark of the Covenant led the way for Israel, does God go before us today? If you say yes, you must acknowledge that He will also set the table for your next adventure! Join me in the joy of trusting God to a greater and greater degree. Is God worthy to be trusted in even the mundane of life? He is!

In Joshua 3:5, God tells the people to prepare themselves, for He will do wonders among them. May we all consecrate ourselves, being set apart and ready for the display of Gods marvelous work in our day as well! Lord, open our eyes, that we may see you high and lifted up, following you with confidence!

See you on Sunday

Pastor Marv
