Pastor’s Perspective: God Fights for You

Dear Church Family,
How often does it cross your mind that the Lord fights for you? When someone has your back, it builds tremendous confidence. When discouragement or fear cloud your mind, it is amazing to realize that God will fight for us. It is also a difference-maker when brothers and sisters know you well enough to be able to fight for you. Faithful discipleship with a church family over the course of time is what puts us in a good place to better help one another! Join the “Make America Spiritual Again” movement today.

Someone shared with me the prayer that HUD Secretary Scott Turner prayed over President Trump and the entire cabinet at the first leadership meeting in this new administration, it was an encouragement to read, and it was done at the Presidents request. We should never look to government to lead our revivals, but as we see in the reign of Israel’s kings, godly governments are a blessing to a nation. Have you prayed for our leaders lately? Are you thankful to have an administration that is fighting for Christian liberty?

As wonderful as it is to have friends and governments pulling for you, it is above imagination, and very gracious to have the Almighty in our corner. Wow, the Holy God, personally acquainted with all our ways, protecting us from the mocker and accuser of the brethren! Be strong and courageous, fear not, nor be not dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

This Sunday will be special! Family Day is a good day for all. Please bring all the children as we look at the country of Nepal during the pastor’s story time and then learn more about what God is doing in Nepal through the Giri’s and Calvary Bible training. We will also be sharing a meal that YOU will bring?. Soup and salad are the theme. Some like it spicy, some like it hot, some like it chunky (with beef of course), some like it smooth, a taste test it will be.

The men’s retreat signup deadline is next Sunday, March 9th. We want to see at least 85 of you guys registered before then (we now have 15☹). So, procrastinate no longer, your wife said you need to go! All young men 13 and up are encouraged to attend. The discussions and prayer times will be memorable. We have lodging for 144 guys at the Smith Mountain Lake 4-H Center. Car pulling will be available, just ask.

See you on Sunday

Pastor Marv
