Pastor's Perspective: Our Beginning

Good morning, Church Family,

The beginning is often a time of expectation and wonder—a church plant, a move to a new city, the start of a job, graduations, a honeymoon, your first child, or life after salvation. But what was it like to be in the Garden of Eden at the very beginning of time? And what existed before time began?

Eternity past and our future eternal existence are great mysteries for the human mind to grasp. Dawson will begin our study of the Gospel of John this Sunday. In its very first verse, we are taken back to before the created world existed. God has always existed, and at the beginning of history, He took the time and effort to create the heavens and the earth—including the human race!

The Gospel of John is an amazing story of redemption offered to a fallen world—a story of grace indeed! Where do you fit into this incredible story? Are you living in His grace today?

September is here, summer is slipping away, and my favorite season is just around the corner! TDFC, our homeschool support gatherings, begin today. This Sunday will also include a graduation for students moving from children’s ministry into middle school. We will then enjoy a lunch together after church.

On September 14th, we will offer a time for baptisms! We also have some exciting outreach opportunities ahead, including a CCF table at the Heart of VA Festival, and beginning October 5th, we’ll be holding monthly services at Farmville Rehabilitation.

Enjoy each season—but especially the one coming up!

In Christ,
Pastor Marv
