Pastor's Perspective: They Took the City

Dear Church Family,

This is a significant weekend for Calvary Chapel Farmville. With our men's breakfast on Sat morning, (sign up on the app) and our Sunday morning Joshua 6 study, God is showing the way to tremendous spiritual victory.

We must learn to love and to hate. We must love the things God loves, and we must equally hate the things God hates. This second part my friends, is the often overlooked step, keeping us from victory over sin, you must take the city.

Joshua 6 begins with a promise from God, "I have given Jericho into your hands". In the end of verse 20 we read another significant line, "...and they took the city." God has promised us victory over temptation and sin, but we must avoid the things under the ban; you must take the city.

CCF Missions Focus:

10%+ of the financial gifts that you give at CCF are given back to other missions, both local, and around the world. 90% of your gifts are used in various ways to better carry out our primary calling, to shepherd the flock of God among us. Without a strong healthy sheepfold, it's difficult to make any lasting impact for God. Missions always start at home, and go out from there.

For 5 straight weeks, we want to share with you where our 10% mission funds are going. Last Sunday we were in Senegal Africa with the Avery's, this Sunday we will travel around the world with Gideons International, next week we will be local with the Pregnancy Support Center, Feb 23rd we will be on Kensington Avenue, Philadelphia at "The Rock Ministries", and March 2nd we will be in the country of Nepal, training pastors to teach the Bible verse-by-verse.

Taking the city
