Pastor’s Perspective: The Longest Prayer

Good morning, Church family,

This Sunday, in Nehemiah 9, we will be studying the longest recorded prayer in the Bible. This prayer was chosen by God to be placed in the canon of Scripture for our observation and study. It involves worship, thanksgiving, reflection on God’s faithfulness, intercession, and requests. May God build our faith and inspire us to expand our prayer life in both content and time spent before the Lord.

Prayer may be the most overlooked aspect of the Christian faith. We all understand the desperate prayers when life brings sadness, stumbling, or pain, but prayer becomes so much more as our faith grows and we learn to commune regularly with the Good Shepherd.

Let’s start today by praying for a special gathering on Sunday. Consider joining us at 9:00 AM to trust God together before our 10:00 service. Sunday early prayer time has become a very important part of the ministry of CCF, and you are welcome to join us.

We have a baptism scheduled for September 14. This is an opportunity to devote yourself to prayer—for courage to be baptized, for others to put Jesus first, and for all of us to be encouraged in the faith!

See you on Sunday,
Pastor Marv
