Pastor’s Perspective

Feb 18, 2022    Pastor Marv Fisher

Dear Church Family,

This coming Sunday I will finish teaching through the book of Romans. The writer Paul, had often been hindered in coming to visit the church in Rome, but was trusting God that he could arrive soon. In chapter 15:32 he expresses his desire when this arrival happens, "so that I come to you in joy, by the will of God and find refreshing rest in your company." This is also my heart's desire for our gatherings at Calvary Chapel Farmville!

Join with me in this Pauline prayer for our gathering this Sunday:

Come In Joy: A joyful heart is a hopeful heart, let's come expecting the Lord to stir our hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit
By the will of God: "and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near." Heb 10:24-25
Find refreshing rest: Our gatherings should be a place of rest. May our hearts be refreshed and unnecessary burdens removed. May the power of the Holy Spirit provide a miracle within.
I would encourage each of you to read the old testament book of Daniel. On Sunday, March 6th we will begin a study of this prophetic book! The theme I have given this study is "Faithful Devotion in a New World Order". To give me an extra week of preparing for this timely study, Dawson will be teaching us next week from a portion of scripture that God puts on his heart, let's pray for him.

Wednesday evenings continue to be wonderful opportunities for discipleship for all ages, consider joining us at 6:30-8:00 PM.

See you soon!

Pastor Marv
