7/22 Elder’s Perspective

Jul 22, 2022    Robert Harper

“You are my Son, whom I love: with you I am well pleased.” Luke 2:22b

What an amazing Savior we have! God the Father looks upon Him and speaks for all to hear that He is pleased with this Savior, His Son – Jesus from Nazareth. We rejoice today in this great truth. It is such a great truth that we are forevermore strengthened in our spirit. We rejoice in Him and our faith too is strengthened in this name – the name of Jesus. Our strength this week has come from Him – we reflect His name in all we do, in how we think, in what we say and in how we look upon others. May God be blessed by how we glorify his Son – Jesus of Nazareth.

We are blessed also in this – that we have each other! You are a contributor to His marvelous Church. His Church that restrains the enemy and points all to the Father to the Son and to the Spirit. This week our local expression of the Church here in Farmville (the ends of the Earth) has been grateful to have met, serve and encourage one another.

We praise God for the men’s and women’s ministry on Tuesdays at our building. We praise God for the children, for the youth, for the young adults and for the adults that meet for Worship and learning on Wednesdays. We praise God for the staff of this local Church and for all those who served with their gifts among and for us. We praise God that some of the youth have traveled this week to a Bible Camp and we praise God that our Pastor made it home safely and encouraged from his time in creation. We praise God for His healing power this week in our spirit and bodies. All glory to him – to the one the Father says He loves!

The Church will gather Sunday to celebrate the empty tomb. We will worship through prayer, through song, through the reading and teaching of His Word and through giving. We are thankful to have missionary Brian Yeager with us for worship and for his preaching from God’s Word. Brian will preach about the Baptism, genealogy and temptation of Jesus. Read Luke Chapter 3 verse 18 through Chapter 4 verse 13 and come prepared for the message God will have for you – yes, a message for you. Brian, his wife Stacy and youngest daughter Elinor have been serving in Tajikistan the last few years (the ends of the Earth). They have moved back to the States recently and we are thankful to have relationship and fellowship with them.

Blessings to you today. We look forward to worshiping Him together this Sunday morning. Be encouraged in Him! Keep looking up and praising Him!
