Pastor's Perspective: "Contentment"

Dear Church Family,

This week's Bible study will be from Luke 12:13-34. We will be reflecting on our search for contentment. I hope we can all be more aware of God's personal care for us, and how He longs to be our provider. Anxiety is a reality that can quickly overwhelm us, stealing our joy, and crippling our lives. It may be good to read over this Luke passage several times in preparation for our study together on Sunday.

I believe the timing of this Luke study, in relation to our "Serve & Protect Sunday" this weekend, has come about by the leading of the Holy Spirit. The first responders and military personnel that we will be honoring and praying for are constantly dealing with crisis situations, which can be stressful to them and certainly to those who are experiencing pain and trauma. May God graciously minister to each person according to the need, and may we all find our rest in the presence of the Good Shepherd.

Let's trust God together for these special thanksgiving gatherings:

Nov 6th, 10:00 AM Serve & Protect Sunday. This service will be followed by a Thanksgiving meal and children's show & tell, involving a Fire truck, Ambulance and a Police car. Bring a side dish to add to the turkey dinner provided by our hospitality team!
Thanksgiving Eve Service, Nov 23rd: This Wednesday evening service will be a gathering of worship and testimonies of thanksgiving to the Lord. You will be hearing from a representation of different age groups within the church!
Feeding Farmville: We are teaming up with St John's Lutheran Church to provide and deliver meals to our community on Thanksgiving morning. You can help prepare food or help deliver meals, what a blessing this ministry has become!
See you on Sunday!
