7/16 Elder’s Perspective

Jul 15, 2022    Robert Harper

Greetings to you on this special day God has put into motion! You have been declaring today, just as Paul did writing to the Philippians, that Jesus Christ is Lord to all you have encountered - either in what you say or in what you do. What a great truth this is “Jesus Christ is Lord”! A truth that strengthens us in the middle of difficulties in this world and one that reminds us of humility in the success of this world.
The children have been gathering at our building this week to proclaim the greatness of our God. These children come each night ready to receive what God has for them in the teaching, in the worship through song, in prayer and in simply playing together. They come with such open joyous hearts ready to receive and ready to share – such a great example for us all. Please continue in prayer for a strong finish to this weeks’ Vacation Bible School “Jerusalem Marketplace”.
The children and teachers will meet again Friday and Saturday evenings from 6 pm to 8:15 pm. Please pray for these children – that God’s Word would go deep in their heart, that their families would be impacted by God and that these young lives would see the need and desire for God’s salvation. Pray for relationships to begin between them and God.
We hope you can attend Sunday morning’s Worship service this week at 10 am. We will celebrate our Risen Savior through song, prayer and the opening of God’s Word. This weeks’ message for you will be from Luke chapter 2 verse 39 through chapter 3 verse 17. May we all prepare for God’s conviction and God’s invitation to us from this portion of His Word. Pray that individuals would respond to the Holy Spirt in this Worship service.
A special blessing during this Sunday’s Worship will come from the Vacation Bible School students being with us. These students and their leaders will share with the Church what God did in their presence during the week. To celebrate - the Church will also gather after the service for a fellowship picnic meal in front of the building. What encouragement we will all receive from this time together! There will not be a children ministry this Sunday separate from Worship – since the children will be in the Sanctuary with us all. The Church will be providing a Nursery for families with little ones.
God’s blessing to you today as you take the Church to the world on your own mission field. We look forward to gathering on Sunday morning! We praise God for you today.
