6/9 Pastor's Perspective
Pastor’s Perspective: “Kindness”
Good morning CC Farmville,
This study in the 2nd half of the book of Ephesians causes us to give careful consideration to how God would have us relate to one another. Chapter 4 takes us well beyond sterile acceptable performance and challenges us in our thoughts and emotions towards one another. The word that stands out to me in verse 32 is kindness. Kindness is described as a fruit which presents itself as an offering for another to receive. When the fruit of the Spirit of God is hanging from the branches of our lives, both the giver and receiver experience joy. To live fruitful lives, pruning is also necessary. Some things simply need to go, they need to be cut off, they need to stop. Without this pruning, healthy fruit will be scarce, and relationships will suffer.
Thanks to Bart & Gail for leading the Crown Financial class that ended last Monday evening. May we all remember for years to come, that everything belongs to the Lord, and we are given stewardship of a few things. May each of us be good and faithful stewards of all that God gives us.
The Overflowing Cup is nearing completion! The sidewalks are being formed up, and concrete will be poured next week. Today, the electrical is being finished up, and the ceiling tiles are going in. Keep this in your prayers as we walk through the doors of opportunity and use this new space for greater discipleship and outreach!
Sam and Olivia Avery have been serving in Dakar Africa for 2 years. They will be back here in Farmville from June 14th-July 30th, then returning for another season of ministry. On Sunday evening, July 2nd, we plan to have a time devoted to hearing from them and give each of us the opportunity to support them financially. Personal connections also help us be devoted in faithful prayer.
June 20-24 VBS is just around the corner and the props and décor are looking amazing. If you have a few hours to help, contact Donna Raitter. Please be in prayer over this wonderful opportunity to disciple all the children God brings to us. Thanks to so many of you for your willingness to serve in some way!
Water Baptism! If you would like to be baptized as a believer in Jesus Christ, we have an opportunity coming up on June 18th
See you on Sunday.
