5/12 Pastor's Perspective
Dear Calvary Chapel Family,
One of the great encouragements to me over the past few years has been the sweet fellowship we are experiencing as a church family. But, keeping love alive and active is a constant challenge, even in Godly relationships. In Sunday’s study of Ephesians 2:11-22, we are taught several very important keys to enjoying and maintaining healthy relationships with God and our brothers & sisters in Christ. Unity in the body brings great joy and allows us to accomplish much more for the kingdom of God. May each of us prepare our hearts to be conformed to the will and work of God upon us in a personal way, our fullness will then spread to others as an overflow of the Holy Spirit.
Vacation Bible School is fast approaching! This June 20-24 outreach is one of our highlights of the Summer. Once again, we will need 50+ volunteers to serve in many ways. Volunteers are always richly blessed of the Lord, and joy certainly increases among us as we serve together. You can register to serve on our CCFarmille App or sign up in the foyer. Please be in prayer that all our children can grow in the knowledge of Jesus, that lives will be changed, and that we could reach many other children and parents with the love of Jesus.
The Overflowing Cup is coming along nicely. Drywall is finished, trim carpentry and paint will be starting next week. Our goal is to be able to have this space available for use during our June VBS. Our Landlord, contractor and friend, Leon Lapp is doing a great job overseeing this project. The cost of the Overflowing Cup buildout, with appliances was estimated at $130,000.00, to date we have received $59,804.46 in funds earmarked for this project. Thanks to each of you who contributed. This additional space will be used for several of our ministries to overflow as we grow, but we also see great potential as an outreach into our community with special events, especially as we are able to purchase specialty coffee equipment, sound equipment, projectors and all that is needed to have evenings of discipleship, music, fellowship, and good, wholesome entertainment. Praise God for how he has provided so far, where God guides, He provides.
Jorge, Luisa and Rachel have added much joy to our church family and will be greatly missed when they move back to Colombia. On May 28th we will have a send-off prayer. Over the next few weeks, we will also have a card box available in the foyer, consider sending them off with your personal words of encouragement. Please be in prayer for this dear family, much is involved to an overseas move.
See you on Sunday as we celebrate Mother’s day!
