5/5 Pastor's Perspective

May 5, 2023    Pastor Marv Fisher

Dear Church Family,

As I expressed several times in our recent study, Ephesians stands alone as the Alps of the entire New Testament. The depths and heights of biblical theology, the life-changing instructions on human life, and a visual into our spiritual battles, set this book apart in a special way. On Sunday we plan to start our study in Chapter 2. In the first 3 verses we are taken to the depths to look at our transgressions and sins. These 2 words are similar, but different. Transgression is when we cross a line in defiance, revealing our rebellion. Sin is simply missing the mark, failure. All transgressions involve rebellion or failure.

We see a wonderful transition in verses 4-5, where God deals with this transgression. “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ.” Once again, we ride the gondola to the top with a breathtaking view of the surpassing riches of God. I hope you can join us for a special time of discipleship, worship, and prayer on Sunday morning.

The CCF Homeschool Coop (Training Disciples for Christ) finished up the first year and was a wonderful success. Jessica Pepin was a great example to all in her humble, gracious, and firm leadership. The youth blossomed, and I was greatly encouraged as I observed the weekly chapel time, where the children began the day with public prayers and devotionals. You would all have been proud of them all. They will wrap up the Coop with a special ceremony tonight, then tomorrow they will come out to the Fisher Farm for a field day and lunch. If you are a part of the CCF family, and are homeschooling your children, you should consider this opportunity in the Fall.

The “Overflowing Cup” building project continues to roll on, drywall was hung this week. We will offer another walk-through opportunity on Sunday during the fellowship meal. Yes, this Sunday is family day. We want ALL the children to be present as they will be doing a special song for us. Bring a dish to share and stay for the family lunch after the service.

Much love to all
