5/19 Pastor's Perspective
Dear Calvary Family,
How often do we consider the value of suffering on behalf of another? Going beyond what is beneficial or convenient, and serving through personal hardships for a brother or sister in Christ can open a door to a most joy filled life. On Sunday we will study Ephesians 3, where the Apostle Paul is undergoing tribulation on behalf of his dear friends in Ephesus. His sufferings on there behalf brought about glory for the church. I am still trying to grasp what God is wanting to teach us in this amazing study. Would you join me in prayer for a meaningful time around the Word of God. May were draw near with confidence and full of faith, trusting God enough to use our sufferings for His glory, and the building up of the body of Christ.
Many of you have been asking about Cindy Ott, concerning her progress after her stroke. She will be discharged from her high-level care facility on Wednesday of next week (05-24) and will be living with Jordan and Tarah Yoder in Prospect until her home is renovated to meet her needs, and we feel she is ready for that step. Kristen will be setting up a schedule for you to bless Cindy with your visit to the Yoder home, both to assist the Yoder’s with Cindy’s care, and to provide fellowship and support. Would you prayerfully consider a 2- or 3-hour shift? We believe a daily visit would be good at this point.
The Overflowing Cup build-out is going very well. Painting, cabinets, and tile work are underway this week, drop ceiling is scheduled for next week. We hope to be able to open it up for another walk-through on Sunday, May 28th! I look forward to the opportunities this space will provide for additional discipleship and fellowship. As the Lord keeps adding to our number, keep reaching out to others in love and hospitality. May God continue to guide and provide for all that He wants to accomplish among us.
VBS signups are underway for both servant volunteers and children registration. Don’t miss out on this wonderful outreach opportunity.
See you on Sunday!
