Lukewarm No Longer

The message is the letter Jesus writes to the church at Laodicea. It is common to be affected by the culture around us, the city of Laodicea was wealthy, known for its banking, wool production (clothing) and medicine. Money, clothing, and medicine can be a blessing to all of us, but it is easy to understand how the church became satisfied with securities of this world, and lukewarm regarding God.

A lukewarm relationship with Jesus is offensive to Him. The solution Jesus offers us is a repentant heart. Jesus says he is knocking on the door of the lukewarm heart, offering to come in and dine with us. He is able and willing to restore the passive heart, are we willing to let go of false securities? May we all prepare our hearts for a wonderful time together, gathered around the Word of God, inviting the Holy Spirit to restore the first love.
