9/23 Pastors Perspective

Dear Church Family,

Today, let's think about greatness. Since T-ball, we have been taught to be all that we can be, what does that mean? What is being sacrificed when we really attempt to be, all that I can be? How will our personal greatness affect those around us, our team? Most importantly, what does Jesus say about personal greatness. What does Jesus value as greatness in our lives?

According to Luke chapter 9, Jesus does value greatness in our lives. The greatness Jesus is looking for is just different than much of what is being promoted among us. We are being inundated with so much focus on personal achievements; home run records, CEO statis, SAT scores and living in Martha's Vinyard. I look forward to our time together this Sunday as we take a few more verses and understand the great value of all that Christ has done for us, and how He desires to work through us, for His glory.

In our Luke 9:28-62 study on Sunday, will be addressing a specific area of ministry within our church family that has really been experiencing growth, Jesus calls this ministry, the receiving of children. CCF directors of this important ministry value the spiritual growth and maturity of our children over numerical growth. Prayerfully consider how you could assist in the discipleship of this young generation that has tripled in size since January, in both the Sunday AM and Wednesday evening services.

What a blessing it is for us to serve together, receiving from our Lord, and sharing it with others. Let's keep ministry simple and genuine!

See you on Sunday as we gather on this first day of the week!
