9/30 Pastor’s Perspective

Sep 30, 2022    Pastor Marv Fisher

Dear Church Family,

In this week's Luke 10 study, Jesus sends out seventy disciples into different villages, telling people that the kingdom of God has come near to them. They came back exuberant because of all the great things they were able to do for the kingdom. Successful ministry is truly rewarding for all of us, but what is true success in this kingdom of God? Jesus will teach us much about serving Him in chapter 10, but Jesus reminds us, that the greatest reason to rejoice, is the fact that our names are recorded in heaven, we are His people!

This Sunday we plan to celebrate the new names written down in glory. This rejoicing will include water baptism! If your name is written down in heaven, and you have not been baptized as a believer in Jesus Christ, this is your opportunity to go public with your faith. Just bring a dry set of clothes to church and prepare your heart to receive a great blessing from the Lord.

Also this week, sign-up and registration begins for the CCF Ark Encounter/Creation Museum bus trip. The bus holds 55 people, we hope to fill it up for the Jan 17-20, 2023 trip.

Let's be in prayer for all the people affected by Hurricane Ian this week. As we receive the rain this weekend, may we be reminded that, as we receive this needed blessing, others are experiencing hardship. May God continue to work all things for the good, may the eternal perspective God desires to reveal, not go unnoticed. Let's pray for more names to be written down in glory; the harvest is great, the workers few.

See you on Sunday! You will be wet when you arrive, you may be wet when you leave!
